David’s experience with MUZZY English has inspired him!

MUZZY alumnus David R. teaches English and trains teachers in the Peace Corps.

“The storytelling and songs provide the key to the most important aspect of long-term language success – retention,” says David R., a MUZZY alumnus who is now an educator with the Peace Corps in Azerbaijan.

David started MUZZY as a teenager, when he “became a fan of the immense power of learning through story, plus the ability to learn at your own pace. For the first time, it made me enjoy education when I could learn through stories, as well as through the multi-sensory environment.”

David’s experience with MUZZY has inspired him in his role as English Language Teacher and Teacher Trainer for the Peace Corps in Zaqatala, Azerbaijan, part of the former Soviet Union.

“MUZZY is a great model because it puts together, in an ideal way, methodology and narrative,” David explained. “MUZZY not only teaches content, it teaches the student how to learn. It uses immersion, not as opposed to grammar, but where the direct method allows learners to start using functional language and acquire grammar easily and naturally in the process.”
