Carilyn, PTA treasurer and the impetus behind the MUZZY-based primary school language programme in her community.

It is exciting to see what parents, children and schools have achieved together with MUZZY to bring the advantages of early language learning into classrooms around the world. When there was no budgetary funding to hire a foreign language teacher or implement a language programme, with the assistance of the school administration, parents at a primary school in Florida in the USA raised the funds from the community to add MUZZY to classes.

A small group of parents teach and lead a nursery through year 5 Spanish programme on a volunteer basis. Their determination coupled with MUZZY methodology and materials made language learning possible for hundreds of children. Shortly after beginning, the success of the programme was obvious by the excitement and motivation of the students. Their new language skills followed suit and soared!

Carilynn credits the design and methodology of MUZZY for making the programme a success, “The students love the MUZZY story so much that they retain the language content.” Carilynn’s determination and dedication earned her accolades within her community for the outstanding contribution to education. However, as Carilynn enjoys telling new parent volunteers, “The MUZZY programme does the work itself. We’re just the icing on the cake.”
